ABOUT US

Hamdard Health Organization (HHO) is a non-government (NGO), not-for-profit, and independent Civil Society Organization (CSO) founded by a group of Afghan dedicated professional with diverse background in 2003 and registered with Afghan Ministry of Economy in 2005 under the license number 236 and has the legal permission to operate all over the country without any restrictions. HHO has the full authorization and responsibility to seek resources for our planned program to address the unmet needs of our target groups whom are children, women, person with disability, internally displaced, returnees and population affected by disasters. HHO has been a pioneer national NGO among the civil society family, started its operation in 2003 in a rural and disadvantage area of Afghanistan. HHO aim has been to work alongside disadvantaged Afghan communities, providing relief, rehabilitation and development assistance to achieve social and economic prosperity and improve humanitarian and social capital through delivering emergency response, health, protection, educational & livelihood services.

Since its inception in 2005, HHO has helped over 17,000 people recovered physically and emotionally from their injuries and increased their socio-economic participation. HHO has its management office in Kabul with 6 units including Program management, M&E, Finance, HR & Administration, procurement and program development. Each unit is guide by its dedicated policy and a minimum one permanent staff in each unit to keep the organization running. The organization program management is guiding through the relevant programmatic guidelines in various sectors to meet sectorial maximum standards. The organization has permanent regional offices in central and western regions of Afghanistan and has provincial offices in Wardak, Ghazni, Logar, Parwan, Khost, Herat and Badghis provinces and is seeking to expand its programs to all major cities in Afghanistan.

The Organization during its engagement for the last 20 years have had working protocols with the Ministry of Public Health MoPH to mentors local midwives in underserved areas and health education in high risk areas, Ministry of Education MoE in connection of adults literacy and Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Martyred and disabled MoLSaMD of National Skill Development Program NSDP to provide vocational education, apprenticeship support for income generations. HHO also has close cooperation with the Ministry Disaster Management in connection to emergency programs implementation for disaster affected populations. HHO is registered with ACBAR, ANCB and other key entities currently member of various cluster, working groups, taskforces and having membership with FSAC, Education, ES-NFI clusters. APWDO is currently working in central, eastern and western regions of the country and would like to expand its operation to rest underserved areas and reach further people in need in this unfold situation of Afghanistan.

HHO has positioned itself as one of the top ranking NGOs by having a well-equipped offices, competent core team, a network of volunteers across the country, good reputation in our beneficiary communities, understanding of the different cultures and contexts, having SOPs and programmatic guidelines for the focused program areas, various policies to guide our actions and facilitate decisions and a strategic plan to keep the organization focused on its goals.
